Can I use my NDIS funding for STEM kits?

In many cases, yes. Our STEM kits may be funded if they align with the participant’s NDIS goals, such as building independence, developing skills, or supporting structured activities at home.
We recommend confirming with your plan manager or support coordinator before purchasing.

Are you an NDIS registered provider?

No. STEMgineers is not a registered NDIS provider.
We work with participants who are self-managed or plan-managed.

Can you work with plan-managed participants?

Yes. We can provide invoices directly to your plan manager for payment, subject to approval within your NDIS plan.
We are happy to assist by contacting your plan manager to confirm suitability before proceeding.

Do I need to pay upfront?

Self-managed participants: Yes, payment is made upfront and you can claim reimbursement through the NDIS.
Plan-managed participants: In most cases, we can invoice your plan manager directly once approval has been confirmed.

What if my plan manager does not approve the purchase?

If funding is not approved, the cost of the kit will need to be covered privately.
We always recommend seeking approval before placing an order to avoid this.

What NDIS category do your kits fall under?

Our STEM kits are typically aligned with:
Capacity Building supports
Core supports (depending on the participant’s plan)
As every plan is different, we recommend confirming with your plan manager or support coordinator.

What information do you need to invoice my plan manager?

To process an invoice, we usually require:
Participant name
Plan manager name and email
Optional: NDIS number
This allows us to issue a compliant invoice for payment.

Can these kits be used independently?

Yes. Our kits are designed to encourage independent learning.
However, participants may also choose to complete them with support from a parent, carer, or support worker if needed.

Are the kits suitable for different abilities?

Yes. Our kits are designed to be inclusive and adaptable.
Participants can complete them at their own pace, with varying levels of support depending on their needs.

Do you offer ongoing STEM subscriptions through NDIS?

Yes. Monthly STEM kit subscriptions may be suitable where they align with participant goals and available funding.
We recommend confirming ongoing approvals with your plan manager.

Will I receive an invoice for NDIS claims?

Yes. We provide clear, itemised invoices that can be used for NDIS claims or submitted to your plan manager where applicable.
